Anxiety

Compassionate, Attentive Care

What is anxiety?

Anxiety is a condition that causes persistent intrusive thoughts and feelings of worry. Anxiety disorders can cause symptoms such as:

  • Uncontrollable worry

  • Agitation or restlessness

  • Inability to concentrate

  • Difficulty connecting with others

  • Being introverted in social situations

  • Running out of things to say in social situations

  • Insomnia

  • Growing fatigued easily

  • Irritability

  • Feeling of inevitable doom

If you suffer from anxiety, you might also have scary physical symptoms like sweating, trembling, or accelerated heartbeat. Many suffer from anxiety disorders also feel a deep sense of loneliness and isolation.

For some sufferers, anxiety accompanies depression. Although it's normal for everyone to have some kind of anxiety occasionally, it becomes a serious problem when your anxiety is persistent enough to interfere with your daily life.

If your anxiety affects your health, job, relationships, or other aspects of your life negatively, you might be dealing with an anxiety disorder. Fortunately, anxiety disorders are very treatable conditions that you can overcome successfully with my help.

What causes anxiety?

The causes of anxiety are different for everyone. Often, there's a complex set of contributing factors, including genetics, individual brain chemistry, physical health, and life experiences.

I create an environment in which you'll feel comfortable exploring and speaking freely about the core issues at the root of your anxiety to inform your anxiety treatment plan.

How does anxiety treatment work?

I develop an individualized anxiety management plan very quickly so you can start feeling better fast. I consider your unique anxiety triggers to design an effective plan that considers all aspects of your anxiety.

I teach powerful, highly effective coping mechanisms that help you take control right away. I help you alter your responses to the feelings of anxiety, allowing you to react in a healthier way going forward. You’ll experience better communication skills, improved relationship skills, and better self-esteem after addressing the unhealthy thinking patterns causing your anxiety.

Therapy is extremely effective for anxiety sufferers. Many patients experience anxiety symptom relief after only a few therapy sessions. The majority of patients achieve significant anxiety symptom relief after several months of therapy.
